Marketing signs for real estate

Home is where the heart is, but that doesn’t mean that consumers are forced to settle for the home they currently have! Of course, that’s a lot easier said than done. These days, if you’re a real estate agent, marketing a home or a retail space effectively has never been more important, due to the many obstacles that may prevent a consumer from purchasing a home.

The housing market has been in a strange place for the past few years. The median sales price of houses has skyrocketed to a point where it can get discouraging to buy a house today. Although 30-year mortgage rates have steadily fallen in 2019, it doesn’t change the sales price for a house.

To make things worse, there has been a recent plummet in consumer confidence in the U.S. It’s becoming harder to turn consumers into potential home-owners because of their negative stigmas surrounding larger purchases.

Who can blame them? Since 2012, many states had an issue of home prices increasing at a faster rate than consumers’ wages increasing. That implies that in those states, you would need to work longer just to afford a place to live! If they’re saving up longer for a new home, they want to feel like it’s worth it.

That being said, it’s time to step up your marketing game! With the proper equipment, you can show off any home that will be sure to have people flocking to it. As an added bonus, the way you market your clients’ property is another way of marketing yourself as a real estate agent, so you can get more clients in the long-run.

Marketing More than Just Property

Effective and successful real estate marketing

You need to know what you’re marketing. Not everyone is looking for just a place to live. One reason why someone might want to purchase a home is that they feel that it will be consistent with their lifestyle. Or, they feel as though the property can be an investment to them, and may want to rent it out to other people.

As you get to meet prospective buyers, it’s extremely vital to know exactly what they’re looking for, their interests, and their personality to increase your chances of closing a sale.

For example, a potential home-buyer might be really into outdoor activities. Whether it’s a sport, gardening, or just leisurely getting some fresh air, people who prefer being outdoors often will need available outdoor space when considering buying a home. In this example, you would need to heavily market backyards, balconies, lawns, and other places that will definitely interest a buyer.

Obviously, there are many reasons to purchase a home, even with all the difficulty in buying a home nowadays. That’s why you need to lock in on those specific reasons in order to know what to market, or no one will buy. Focused marketing of specific features will also feel more personal to people seeking a home, a fundamental tactic in turning a lead into a customer.

Offline Marketing Methods

Once you know what people are looking for, all you have to do is promote those features of a home. Sometimes the Internet won’t be fast enough to advertise a home. If a customer is currently looking for a house and they’re in the area of your client’s house, once they see your signs and displays, they will naturally be driven to see your client’s property.

Fortunately for you, we have many ways to help you efficiently market your real estate.

Yard Signs

Custom yard signage for real estate are essential marketing tools

You probably already know this is a textbook example of real estate marketing. All you need is to put the words “for sale” in big, bold, red letters to get people looking.

But appearances are important. The last thing you want is your sign flopping around when there’s a little breeze in the air. This will only do the opposite of bringing in more people to your open houses. You want to show people you care, not just to people interested in buying a house, but to your clients as well, that you would try everything in your power to close a sale.

Yard signs made of coroplast (corrugated plastic) can help a yard sign stay strong and resist weather, water, and powerful gusts of wind. It will always stand up, which gives it the ability to advertise a house 24/7.

Yard signs can also attract more people with dazzling designs supported by modern technology. Modern yard signage includes Spot UV, which is a coating of UV on certain areas of the sign to emphasize its features.

If you’re advertising a more extravagant house, yard signs are a very viable option for your marketing campaign. Higher end houses might take longer to be sold than a less expensive house, so that means you would want a sign that’s in it for the long haul.

Vehicle Magnets

Custom vehicle magnets are incredibly valuable marketing tools

If you’re driving from house to house to meet clients and advertise their property, you can make the transportation process a lot more productive! Use the space on your car or vehicle to create an advertisement block on the doors on your vehicle.

Vehicle magnets are great for advertising in high traffic areas because more people will see them. If you’re moving often from place to place, a vehicle magnet creates more opportunities for exposure to your clients’ property.

Vehicle magnets are also extremely durable so that they won’t fall off unless you take them off. What’s more, if you have multiple vehicles, you can simply switch the magnets from vehicle to vehicle!

Of course, you don’t want your car to be bombarded with advertisements for your clients’ property and for self-promotion. Otherwise, the car will be hard to look at. If eyes immediately wander away at the sight of your car, that would defeat the purpose of installing the vehicle magnet.

There’s a fine line between marketing your clients’ homes efficiently, and overdoing it. You want your vehicle magnet to include important information, like your phone number, email, and what kind of property you sell and where. Including the contact info of all your clients and houses that they’re selling would be nonsensical. Focus on quality over quantity of your advertisements.

Perforated Window Decals

There exists a trade-off between advertising a client’s home while still maintaining their privacy. However, it should be a priority to keep clients feeling safe. They might not always feel comfortable with an open house or potential buyers taking a closer look around the house. Perforated window decals were designed for this dilemma.

If you haven’t heard of one before, a perforated window decal is a graphic stuck on a window that allows people to see the graphic on the window, and that’s it. Really. Everything past the window will be completely unidentifiable to people looking outside of it, so they won’t be able to see your clients or their belongings from outside.

However, your clients can still see everything out their windows from inside normally! If you value your clients’ privacy, perforated window decals should be a standard advertising method. Using perforated window decals can also boost your reputation for putting a client’s safety first instead of taking risks to close a sale.

Plus, they help block off sunlight and UV rays! Just be sure there’s a right balance of natural and artificial light to give your home the right appearance.

Perforated window decals can also be applied to stores where privacy is important. For instance, a bar might need to block their interiors from the outside for certain regulations. A restaurant with glass windows might also want to use perforated window decals so people can eat inside comfortably without being affected by the sunlight.

Although perforated window decals can be installed to side windows and rear windows of vehicles, you must check your local regulations as some states may not allow commercial window decals on vehicles.

Vinyl Banners

Vinyl banners are another great marketing avenue for you to explore

Want people from far and wide to look at your client’s property? Vinyl banners are large printed banners that can advertise a house from far away. Vinyl is a very strong material made of plastic, and relatively low in price. It’s built to last and generally resists changes to weather, making it perfect for outdoor applications. You can put a for sale banner on the front of the house, and everyone in the neighborhood will see it. Or, you can apply it indoors. A “welcome” banner can make a prospective buyer feel right at home!

If you want to opt for a matte vinyl banner, you have to keep in mind the thickness of the banner and whether you will use it for indoors or outdoors. Common materials are 13 oz. matte vinyl, 16 oz. matte vinyl, and 18 oz. matte vinyl. The higher the weight of the matte vinyl, the thicker the banner will be. For indoor and very temporary outdoor applications, a 13 oz. matte vinyl would be enough. For longer term use outside, use 16 oz. or 18 oz. matte vinyl.

It’s important to note grommeting and hemming for your banner. Grommets are small, nickel rings placed in the banner so that it can be hung comfortably without any natural wear and tear. Consider how many grommets you would like and where you would want to hang it if you’re interested in using a vinyl banner. Hemming is another way to customize a vinyl banner. Hemming is double stitching on the edges of the banner to ensure that the edges don’t tear.

Floor Graphics

Floor graphic idea for retailers for marketing new promotions and sales

There’s no place like home, so you should make your potential buyers feel welcome in the house. When they walk into your home for an open house or a scheduled meeting to look around the house, what they see shouldn’t be all they get. There should be an added layer of warmth and comfort in the home to make them want to close the deal.

From the first step into your client’s house, the buyer will be judging the interior of your home and how it compares to pictures they’ve seen online. How can you make it more tailored to the people that want to buy your home? You can add a floor graphic! Floor graphics make buyers feel like honored guests at a house rather than a stranger intruding on a family’s privacy.

Do your leads to sales have any children? Floor graphics can be incredibly playful and fun. Toddlers and young children often play on floors, no matter whose house they’re in. Happiness is contagious, and with a floor graphic customized for a young child’s experience, the whole family will have a happy, memorable first experience in the house.

If you’re selling a retail space, show the buyers the potential of the business. You can give buyers ideas of setting up a floor graphic just like yours to embellish the retail space if they buy the property.

Business Cards

Raised foil business card are a very personalized marketing tools

This is a no-brainer, but there are many types of business cards you might not know about. A business card shouldn’t just have your contact information on it. It should also be fun and hard to throw away, so you can guarantee that your clients will keep it.

One idea for making your business card look unique is adding an interesting logo to it. It doesn’t have to be a house, it can be whatever you want it to be. The crazier the better! You can take the logo to the next level by raising it and adding foil to it in order to make it feel different from the standard business card.

Want a business card that will show your clients that you’ll be with them through thick and thin? Painted edge business cards are really thick due to their multiple layers. And it lives up to its name, too. A painted edge business card is exactly what it sounds like: a card with a colored edge all around its width. This makes the business card really stand out from its thickness and with a vibrant color all around it.

Painted Edge Business Card can really give your marketing game a real boost

Another way to create a business card that will really wow your clients is by adding a pattern to it. Patterns shouldn’t be intricate, otherwise, clients will find it hard to look at. A simple pattern can add a very aesthetic effect to the business card without going overboard.

Visually, a business card with a pattern would look great. But we can assume you want to go the extra mile to impress prospective clients and buyers. Remember earlier we discussed Spot UV on yard signs? Spot UV business cards are really popular, too! Don’t be afraid to get a card with Spot UV with raised foil. The more features that make it stand out without ruining the design of the card, the more luxurious it can be. After all, beauty is in the eye of the (business card) beholder.
